This is my 4th Christmas in the city and it is just as exciting and magical every year. Although this year I was hoping for some early snow! If you are visiting the city between now until New Years, here are the most festive locations to spend the holiday season and with the best photo ops!
THE LOTTE NEW YORK PALACE
There is no shortage of Christmas trees in the city and I have seen just about every outdoor one. But the one at the Lotte is a must see! It’s covered with ornaments and ribbon unlike the Rockefeller tree. I shot there the other day so more to come!
ICE SKATING
Take your pick from Central Park, Rockfeller Center or Bryant Park. (Most years The Standard hotel has a mini one but it’s under construction this year). Tip – go early to avoid crowds and lines.
ROCKEFELLER CENTER
The tree is absolutely stunning from all angles. It’s lit up all day but it is magically at night. There are spot lights that light up 30 Rockefeller so the whole plaza looks incredible.
BRYANT PARK
Bryant Park not only has the second biggest Christmas tree and an ice skating rink, but it also is covered with holiday village pop-up shops. Perfect for getting unique holiday presents from local vendors. My favorite part is the pop-up bar The Lodge. My friend Dani and I stopped in for mulled wine.
RESTAURANTS
Every season I love going to Serra on top of Eataly in the Flatiron District. It’s turned into a winter wonderland and they have the best cocktails. Rolf’s is something you have to experience as the ceiling is covered in ornaments and garland. But prepare to wait in line and if you get claustrophobic, it might not be the place for you. I also love the top of 230 Fifth Ave – they have igloos you can order food and drinks in!
